I read the hidden words
Those that came from within
Taken from my heart and soul
Laid bare by paper and pen
Such beauty undiscovered
Longing only to be displayed
But this flimsy covering
Kept the beauty at bay
But now the world shall see
What was hidden in plain sight
No longer covered by a color
But bursting forth in the light
Mi Alma Perdida
Just a forum for me to write poems to vent my joy, anger and happiness or whatever it is I'm feeling. Who knows. Anyway, hopefully it provides entertainment for you!

Life Shatters Eternity
An eternity of love
Bound by a ring
A symbol of hope never-ending
Lovely fields of dreams
Such a poor symbol
When true life invades
Hope easily shattered
And the nightmares ensue
A meaningless symbol
Conveyed on this world
An eternity shortened
By emotions unfaithful
A useless memento
Of things that can't be
A worthless trinket
Nevermore to be worn
Bound by a ring
A symbol of hope never-ending
Lovely fields of dreams
Such a poor symbol
When true life invades
Hope easily shattered
And the nightmares ensue
A meaningless symbol
Conveyed on this world
An eternity shortened
By emotions unfaithful
A useless memento
Of things that can't be
A worthless trinket
Nevermore to be worn

Splendid Shadows
The colors swirl
Dancing across my face
So many twists and turns
Each hue blending, merging
Eventually separating
Moving on to its own splendor
Every face, swiftly passing by
Every wink, wrinkle and smile
Begs to be seen, asks to be noticed
A never ending dance of life
All for my supposed enjoyment
As they slowly pass me by
I am a part of this magnificent dance
Although separated and on the edges
Watching from the shadows
As the others gather to play
Hoping that some day in some way
My color will blend with the rest
But for now I move in my own splendor
Dancing across my face
So many twists and turns
Each hue blending, merging
Eventually separating
Moving on to its own splendor
Every face, swiftly passing by
Every wink, wrinkle and smile
Begs to be seen, asks to be noticed
A never ending dance of life
All for my supposed enjoyment
As they slowly pass me by
I am a part of this magnificent dance
Although separated and on the edges
Watching from the shadows
As the others gather to play
Hoping that some day in some way
My color will blend with the rest
But for now I move in my own splendor
